NetSys 2025
International Conference on Networked Systems 2025
01-04 September 2025 - Ilmenau, Germany
Tutorials: 1 September 2025 - Ilmenau, Germany
Call for Tutorials
NetSys 2025 invites proposals for half-day tutorials with a duration of approximately three hours. These tutorials are intended to provide the conference attendees with a high-class focused learning experience on topics relevant to Networked and Distributed Systems. Tutorials addressing emerging research directions in these areas are especially welcome.
Tutorials can be in the form of lectures or hands-on-tutorials, but also a mix of both or other innovative methods are possible. It is expected that the tutorials will be given on-site. While tutorials are usually useful to PhD students as well as experienced researchers and practitioners, we also welcome submissions focused on specific groups, e.g., PhD students.
Pre-Proposal Submission Inquiries
Should you wish to discuss ideas for a tutorial proposal, feel free to contact the Tutorial Chair (see below) by email.
Tutorial Proposals
A proposal should include:
- Tutorial title, topic, rationale, objectives.
- Name(s), contact information, and a brief bio of the speaker(s).
- Provide a brief abstract suitable for inclusion in the conference program (see NetSys 2023 for examples: https://kuvs.de/netsys/2023/program/netsys-2023-tutorials).
- Requirements for the participants in case of hands-on-tutorials (e.g. pre-installed software), and if special hardware is provided, attendance number limitations and room requirements.
- Was the tutorial given before (if yes, when and where, how does the tutorial differ, and if possible, provide a link to the previous material).
- A rough outline of what tutorial material is planned to be given to the attendees (e.g. slides, code)
Tutorial Selection
Tutorials will be reviewed considering several factors, including:
- The potential for the tutorial to generate high-quality learning outcomes
- The estimated interest of the community in the tutorial topic
- The quality, organization, and plan described in the tutorial proposal
- Relevance to the NetSys conference
We aim for three tutorials in total. While we cannot offer a salary for the tutorial, the registration fee of the conference will be waived.
Responsibilities of Tutorial Speakers
The speakers of each tutorial are expected to:
- Give the tutorial at the conference on-site.
- Actively run the tutorial and encourage audience participation.
- Work with the Tutorial Chair for organizational details.
- Make the tutorial material available to the attendees.
